Malaysia New & Used Car Valuation Guide

Malaysia New & Used Car Valuation Guide

Not sure how much your car is worth? Too lazy to browse through Mudah or Carlist?

Check out Carbase.my's Car Market Value Guide which you can use to check the current market value for new cars and cars sold in Malaysia dating back all the way to the 1990s.
Think of this as Redbook Malaysia which i used to use extensively overseas to decide how much a car is worth. I've been looking for something similar since coming back to Malaysia.
You can use the values as a rough guide on how much a car is worth and is very useful in situations such as:

Buying a used car
By having an idea of the market value, you don't have to pay more than you need to.

Selling or trading in your present vehicle
Never sell your car for way too cheap ever again. But do bear in mind that traders will have to spend money fixing up your car to make it sellable and also to make a small profit. Hence they will always buy your cars at wholesale prices.
If you are looking to get the most money out of selling your car, sell privately but be prepared to go through the hassle of having to market it, sell it and arrange the paperworks etc.

Renewing your vehicle insurance
Use this guide to check that you are not over or under insuring your vehicle. Insurance companies don't normally pay more than market value of the vehicle unless you have a agreed insured value etc.

Under insuring will also cause problems when it comes to claiming as insurance agencies might request you to cover the difference.

Note:
The data is powered by data from ISM Insurance Services Malaysia.

  1. Popular vehicles like a Honda or Toyota can cost a few thousand dollars more than a comparable Chevrolet or Mazda. It pays to be flexible. Buy and Sell Used Cars and Trucks
